OMINVEST receives Business Leadership Award at Oman Business Summit 2020



Oman International Development and Investment Company (OMINVEST) was presented the “OER Excellence Award for Business Leadership” at the 11th edition of OER Business Summit; the award was received by OMINVEST GCEO AbdulAziz Al Balushi.

His Excellency Talal bin Sulieman Al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General, Supreme Council for Planning was the chief guest at the Summit, which was held under the auspices of His Excellency Shaikh Salim bin Mustahail Al Mashani.

OMINVEST actively participated in the Summit agenda. Shahid Rasool, Deputy CEO, OMINVEST made a detailed presentation on “Economic and Business Competitiveness beyond the COVID-19 Era”; he shared insight on the rapidly changing global economic and business landscape, COVID-19 implications, global megatrends, technology trends, business disruption, and major sectors’ performance. Anwar Al Jabri, CEO, Jabreen Capital – a subsidiary of OMINVEST - took part in the first panel session on the topic “Economic Roadmap to Vision 2040”, which deliberated on strategic economic direction that Oman needs to pursue for a well-diversified, sustainable and competitive economy that is based on knowledge and innovation, and the challenges owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oman Business Summit is an annual forum bringing together Oman’s senior government officials, influential policy makers and top-notch corporate for an engaging discussion on policy initiatives, new economic trends, the role of private sector and the changing dynamics of growth in the country. Under the topic “Vision 2040: Charting a roadmap to Blessed Renaissance 2.0,” the Summit deliberated the national economic priorities outlined in the vision document such as economic diversification and fiscal sustainability, enabling the private sector to drive a competitive economy.
